San Diego’s Top Kitchen Remodeling

This kitchen remodel project focused on a European design with custom frame less cabinets.  The cabinet material used was a rich Knotty Alder to add worth and depth to the space.  The homeowner wanted their kitchen to be rustic, but not too rustic. We knew exactly what they meant and what to do.  Care was taken to minimize the quantity of knots in the Alder to create that a look without becoming visually busy. We distressed the wood prior to finishing controlling the level of the “rustic feel” the homeowner was looking for.

Some of the features in this kitchen are the island with bun feet, with decorative doors wrapped around the sides and back.  The counter top was 3mm (1 1/4″) solid granite which presents a stable solid appeal.  The homeowner decided  on metal support rods over wooden corbels.  This allowed the chairs to tuck completely under the counter and keep anyone from hitting their knees. The kitchen front has a conveniently located wine cooler with two tall kitchen disposal receptacles neatly hidden away.  One set for recyclables and the other for trash.

Another area that stood out was the area to the left of the stove. This area had two large pantries with pull outs drawers inside of both.  A smart design combined with use driven cabinetry features created plenty of storage in this beautiful rustic kitchen.
